combined acting & musical theatre for 7-14yrs

An all-round drama, dance and music course. A stage school experience for pre-teens in full time education. Our Saturday Junior Company offers more than just drama games. Our highly qualified tutors work together to tailor stimulating imaginative classes, and direct shows and exam pieces which really stretch each individual. Shows for the next season include ‘Elf the Musical’ at Christmas 2019, and ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ in the Wild Theatre, July 2020.

Who is it for?

Our juniors are amazing. They are a bubbly outgoing group who embrace new cast members and immerse them in their company.

We perform in at least two shows a year. For the upcoming season, JTC will have their own cast for a production of ‘Elf - the Musical’ in December 2019. Then in Spring and Summer, will work as one big company with Medusa (our teen co) on ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ which they will perform at the Wild Theatre in July 2020.

The Juniors are aged 7-14, with a good mix of boys and girls. Some have loads of experience and like to be at the centre of things, others are quieter and like to have fewer lines in shows but help with costume, props, directing, choreography and technical aspects. They are one big happy family who support and mentor one another.

We work as one company for most of the session, but the older cast (those who have started secondary school) are with us for an extra hour each week. They work with Medusa on more advanced technique sessions and exams (when taken).

Students can opt to take Solo or Duo exams - the training is included in the class fees - even additional one to one sessions which may be needed. We also offer Arts Award at Discover and Explore levels for our younger members.

Once they reach 14, our oldest cast have the option to stay for the whole day (no additional charge) and work with Medusa (our 15-20’s). This helps introduce them to their new peers so moving up at 15 is less daunting!
