Bootcamp - August 2025.

Take part and audition at the end of the week!

What where and when?

August 26th -30th, 9.30am-6pm (arrive ready to begin at 10 please!)

If you have applied for a free funded place at bootcamp (see below) we will need to work with you before bootcamp to ensure you complete your qualification by the end - don’t worry - its all about performing!).

Location Bracknell - South Hill Park/Birch Hill (exact rooms/spaces to be confirmed).

Who?

We are looking for two Disney casts this time - but you can still take part in Bootcamp even if you don’t want to do the trip!

  • Performers aged 12-24.

  • Dance Cast - HIGH level dancers in multiple disciplines.

  • Musical Theatre cast - For solo work HIGH level singers, for ensemble/duets work confident and good voices.
At the Disney performance singers don’t dance, and dancers don’t sing - but if you do want to do both and are offered both casts, it is possible to be a major part of one and minor part of the other (it is not physically possible to do the two 22 minute shows back to back full out in 35 degree heat, but you could do a little in a second cast!).

What happens bootcamp week?

We want everyone to have an amazing time and if you do want to come on the trip, have the best shot at showing off.

The week will run with two main tutors, and a third tutor who will cross over departments.

Top choreographer Carla Crowley (Team England Dance Choreographer), who runs the dance programme at Artemis College and oversees all our competitive and senior dance will work with a team of experienced show directors to create a 25 minute dance showcase.

Paul Toulson, respected and award winning performer and Musical Director will take our muscial theatre cast to new hights of skill and entertainment!

Joseph Hannay, performer, Artemis College Alumni and now director of Medusa and Street Dance will work with both Carla and Paul to add that last touch of glitter for our two performing casts!

ALL participants will sing and dance (don’t worry if you are not great at both -  this is to see what you can do!), but when you book you will declare a preference and at set times each day work intensively on your choice, with group and solo/duo work.

Dancers - As well as some group MT show choir work, you will be taught multiple dance numbers in different genres, some as part of a whole cast and some dancers only (high level). You will also be asked to create your own solo and there will be opportunity in the week to build on solos with peers.

Musical Theatre performers - You will work on whole cast numbers (including some MT Jazz dance), but also have time with Paul to work on high level show choir pieces, solos and duets.

At the end of the week, Carla, Paul and Joe will ask the performers to share with the group all the weeks work, and then solos (or a duet option in singing) will be performed.

This mini showcase will be filmed for the panel to review, and the team will then consider who they would like to offer a place to travel to Disney next year! If you don’t want to travel, you will still be a full part of the showcase.

How much does Bootcamp cost?

If you are a member of Artemis College - FREE. (funded by Artemis college)

If you are 16-18 and happy to take a small qualification (Arts Award or grade) - FREE! (funded by Artemis college)

If you get Bracknell HAF vouchers - FREE (4 vouchers) - but limited to four places.

If you are 12-15, or over 18, £180 for the week.

Artemis is Ofsted registered and can accept Childcare Vouchers and Tax Free Childcare (subject to age).

Information about the trip to Disney - May 2026

What?

This trip is for teenage and young adult dancers (musical theatre dance, commercial, other styles) and musical theatre singers who audition for a place in our cast.

In May half term 2026, two casts of performers (50 performers in total) will travel to Florida to stay in a Disney hotel. We will perform for the public at a venue in Disney World. We will have fun in the 4 parks, enjoy unlimited ride and park photos, Walmart and outlet shopping trip (private bus). Costumes (loan) and 4 bespoke tee shirts (to keep) are also provided.

Top choreographer Carla Crowley (Team England Dance Choreographer), who runs the dance programme at Artemis College and oversees all our Hiphop and Street as well as dance exams will work with a team of experienced show directors to create a 25 minute dance showcase.

Paul Toulson, respected and award winning performer and Musical Director will take our muscial theatre cast to new hights’s of skill and entertainment!

Joseph Hannay, performer, Artemis College Alumni and now director of Medusa and Street dance will work with both Carla and Paul to add that last touch of glitter for our two performing casts!

Supporting the trip - Niki Robinson (CEO and Disney vlogger!), Rosie Hill (Artemis College Principal and theatre director) and Keir Buist (award winning theatre director, actor and Artemis show director) complete the line up to ensure the talent shine in the sun!

On past trips, older dancers and musical theatre performers have been offered work in parades in the parks as a result of attending. While this is never guaranteed, it would be lovely to see some of you in Disney parades in 2027!

Where - Rehearsals

Rehearsals will all be in Bracknell, Berkshire.

The venue locations will be confirmed later in 2025.

For those who are in a final cast for the trip, you will also have a further intensive in February half term of 2026, a showcase at the Wilde Theatre on February 1st and 6 Sunday rehearsals in the run up to the travel day, starting in December.

Where - Disney (Performance)

We will travel to Disney World, in Orlando Florida, USA. Flying from Heathrow to MCO in the USA.

We will stay in one of the ‘All Star’ or Disney Partner resorts on Disney property. This will also give us safe unlimted access to Disney busses to the theme parks while we are there. There are other benefits, such as early access to parks.

We dont stay in villas, or other ‘off property’ hotels. Although they are/can be cheaper to rent, when you add in the private taxis or coaches we then need to get us everywhere we need to be everyday as a large group, it actually costs more.

Cast travelling with family are welcome to stay where ever is best for their group, as long as the cast member can attend all rehearsals, performances, workshops and photo calls on time.

How do I apply for bootcamp and also the trip?

Applying to Bootcamp in August 2025

Complete the form below to book.

Who can be part of the cast of 2026?

Performers who will be aged 12+ in May 2026 and meet the following criteria in audition:

  • Musicality (highly skilled for solos in the musical cast)

  • Team work

  • Good attitude

Chaperones will be on a rota, and while they may be physically present, they may not be on duty, students will be told at the start of the day who is or is not working. Most of the staff have paid their own way and all are giving their time for free in the trip week. those traveling with us must be able to be independant and able to cope with a fast paced schedule with long days. If you think you may need addional support for any reason, consider travelling with a famaily member to help. We are NOT able to allocate a chaperone to a specific person, the staff are there for 50 performers and need to ensure everyone is safe.

Can my family come?

Yes!

An we have two pricing options for the trip to reflect this. ‘Option A’ is for people travelling with family, independent of the school group (except during cast calls).

In the past we have had families come to support and it becomes a very different family holiday experience! In 2014, we had a group of almost 80 including cast and supporters!

If you are aged under 16, or if you have medical or other difficulties where you require additional support - you HAVE to travel with family/guardian. Please factor that in when applying for a place in the cast as you will be paying for travel and accommodation/park ticket/food for your whole party.

Artemis will not be able to help with flights - you must book these yourself (we will be able to tell you which flight we are on if you want to be there at the same time though). We can offer discounted schools prices on rooms and park tickets. HOWEVER, these can only be the same hotel we stay in (block booking) and also park tickets can only be for the same duration as our trip (group booking).

Families who plan to stay more than 6 nights should look to book their own hotel/park tickets instead. You may also find that you save money on 3 or more people travelling together through a travel agent when you factor in the special offers Disney make for staying on a Disney hotel for a week or more and buying 7+ day tickets (such as free food).

As a school, the duration of our trip and the kind of discounted park tickets we have to purchase to be able to perform and undertake workshops means we are not able to use package deals.

We are not able to offer any further discounts or support. We will be subsidising around £14,000 of costs in order to offer the rates above.

May Half Term 21st May - 28th May 2025 We depart/fly out Thursday 21st, and land home at approx. 7am (overnight flight) on 28th May.

On ‘parks days’ - cast 16+ are able to ‘park hop’ as they wish, as long as they are present for cast photos when called. They must also stay in group of 3 or more, and communicate through a whatsapp group every 2 hours to help tutors track their whereabouts.

All cast are banned from the water parks until AFTER performances and workshops. Past experiences with sunburn have prompted this rule.

We do not go to non-Disney parks as a group. Those who are 16+ and wish to do so, can in groups with at least one 18+ chaperone. They will be responsible for the additional cost (around $40 Uber to Universal, plus $200 day ticket).

What happens if I accept a place on the trip and then can't go?

You are still liable for the cost, unless another comparable cast member can take your space.

All costs are shared and already subsidised and Artemis is not able to cover for your expenses.

We are not able to get refunds from suppliers. Airlines do not allow a change of name (3 letter max).

We STRONGLY advise taking out travel insurance at the time of deposit to cover medical but also cancellation if you have to cancel (this is only likely to be for a bereavement or illness).

Parents and friends should NOT book flights or hotels until the trip is 100% confirmed by Disney and Virgin.

Are there discounts for siblings or family?

No. Artemis is already heavily subsidising the cost of the trip and bootcamps.

I'm going to be under 16, can I come alone to Disney?

No, all under 16’s must travel with a parent or guardian. See above for information on hotels or park tickets if you want to use the schools rates.

Can I apply if I can't make it to bootcamp in August?

Yes, possibly, if you are 16-22.

However, unless you are either:

A full time member of Artemis College (for at least 1 year) or

Another full time vocational performing arts school such as Urdang, Bodens, Arts Ed (normal colleges or sixth forms do not apply as they will not be of a comparible standard ) or

A performing arts graduate or

Have been a member of one of our dance based crews or teams for at least a year (or one directed by Carla Crowley) or

Have appeared in a show one of our creative team has directed/choreographed (including South Hill Park shows).

It is unlikely we will be able to assess you.
