Who is this for?
Children who are aged 4-12, and enjoy singing, dancing and acting. Children must be old enough to cope without a parent for the day, and must be able to use the toilet independently.
The classes are loud and busy and may not work for children with touch or hearing sensitivites as other children will be noisy. We can suggest excellent alternative camps for children who need greater support or very small groups - get in touch.
Where is class?
Easter and Summer schools are held in Whitegrove Youth and Community Centre, County Lane, Bracknell.
There is free 2 hours parking in Tesco, and a cafe for parents. If you are waiting longer than 2 hours - please inform Tesco customer services or you may be fined for an overstay (and we are not able to help).
Can parents stay and watch?
No. Only Artemis staff who have been very thoroughly safeguard trained and checked, and chaperones who have also be approved, may be with the children in any class.
If you would like to volunteer to help, get in touch. Our volunteer coordinator can help you get a chaperone licence, (which includes an enhanced DBS check, references and safeguarding training) and put you through our volunteer induction training so you can help on summer schools and shows.
What does my child need to bring?
Only themselves, a labelled water bottle and a smile!
The should NOT bring mobile phones (not allowed in class), expensive toys (they may get lost or broken), peanuts, food to share (allergies), fizzy drinks (they are running around - it wont end well!), sunscreen if it is hot, a hoodie if it is chilly.
If you think they wont like lunch (cheese, tuna or chicken sandwich options, vegan and gluten free possible), they should bring something they like to eat.
We can’t go out for, heat up or add hot water to food. None of the children are allowed to leave and go shopping so please give them what they need for the day.
What to wear?
Dress for the weather. If it is nice (not raining!) we have a private playground. Children may get dusty or muddy in break times, so don’t wear your very best clothes.
We will dance, move and jump about - so leggings/joggers are best for protecting privacy and preventing trips and falls. A tee shirt, a hoodie/jumper will cover most weathers.
If it is hot, please provide sunscreen.
Earrings should be stud, or at least not able to get caught on clothing or hair and risk injury while dancing.
