Welcome to Dare To Dream!
A note from Director Keir Buist
Welcome to the Wilde Theatre and to the regional premiere of 'Dare to Dream Jr' a brand new Disney musical!
Following on from our success of sell out show - Madagascar Jr, I am so delighted to present another high quality junior musical that showcases our exceptionally talented students. With every production we present, the students and their talents go from strength to strength. Not only have we been working towards our end of year showcase but our theatre students have just completed their annual RSL musical theatre exams, with our Junior Street completing theirs earlier in the term and gaining Merits and Distinctions. I am so proud of them for embracing the challenge - we truly are creating mini professionals!
Looking ahead, we are so excited to start work on our annual junior musical - Ghost Station! A bespoke musical play written by CEO Niki Robinson with dramaturgy from myself. This will no doubt be another top quality production from the stars of tomorrow! Ghost Station features 80 named speaking roles, meaning every child has a chance to shine. After Ghost Station, I am delighted to be writing our annual summer show - watch this space for more information soon!
For now - we thank you for your continued support of Artemis' Junior Programmes and encourage you to share what we do far and wide so we can offer more local children professional performing arts training at accessible pricing.

About the show
Today is a celebration of a term of work. Junior Theatre Company and Junior Street Dance took part in exams, and all our cast including Youth Theatre and Little Actors performed their work from this term at the Lexicon for 100’s of people with others from across Artemis!
Dare to Dream JR. is a vibrant musical revue that weaves together timeless classics, contemporary favorites, and reimagined medleys to celebrate a century of Disney magic. An eager group of young trainees attend their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio, where they must first discover their own dreams in order to help others achieve theirs. The team works together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Featuring songs from 24 Disney films, including Tangled, The Lion King, Toy Story, The Princess and the Frog, and Encanto, this musical revue is jam-packed with show-stopping dance numbers, new twists on classic songs, and a powerful message that will surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages.

Rehearsal Photos in the Wilde
Please do donate as much as you can to the fundraisers in the lobby - they allow us to employ a professional photographer to capture the whole show and share them with you for free a few weeks after the show! Please visit the gallery on our website mid August (we will announce on social media ahead too).
Please consider an £18 donation - this buys an Artemis 18 limted edition collectable badge and helps us raise £18,000 for our 18th birthday! Artemis is a charity and all classes are subsidised.
Coming next!
In September we return to Junior Theatre Company with Ghost Station! This epic show is a full length musical with 80 parts!! Junior Theatre Company will work with Grace on choreography, Keir who is directing and co producing and introducing the amazing Paul Toulson as Music Director to bring this huge production to life!
In addition to the child and youth roles, we will be looking for a number of teens from Medusa and Artemis College and for the first time since 2015 - an adult cast! If you would like to audition for one of the adult acting roles, or to be a show girl - Grace and Keir will be rehearsing the supporting adult and teen cast scenes on Monday nights, at South Hill Park from late September, with adult auditions at the start of term. An audition pack will be released online at the end of July so look out and join in!
About the show…
Join us for this reprisal of a play written for Artemis in 2013 - which saw fan mail flutter in for the cast! Ghost Station features a high tech set with projection mapping to take you time travelling to war time London and back to the future again in a tale based on a true story!
Written for Artemis by Niki Robinson, and directed and edited for this 2026 revival by Keir Buist.
A small group of London teens break into a dead tube station - closed up since the late 40’s. The station is a dark time capsule, unchanged and boarded up with commuters passing through on trains unknowingly every day. The teens explore the dark passageways, filming as they go for their urban explorer Youtube channel.
But things take a strange turn when they film the quiet platform - as they look through the view screens on their phones they can see children in school uniforms, dancing girls, soldiers, nurses and more! They are seeing echoes of past events–ghosts from a bygone age–back to the second world war, when the bombs were falling and the local residents of Bethnal Green fled to the tube on a daily basis.
Over days of filming they realise the children and adults they are seeing are about to fall victim to a disaster - when dozens of people were killed in a dreadful accident on the platform. Can they find a way to reach into the past and speak to the people they can hear and see so clearly? Can they change history?
Featuring sing-a-long popular songs from the 40's such as 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' and 'Chattanooga Choo Choo'. Presented by performing arts students from Artemis Studios, this is a roller coaster story with laughter, tears and some toe tapping songs
