Chaperone Volunteers Needed

Volunteer Opportunities at Artemis Studios – Get Involved in the Arts!

Do you love the performing arts and want to make a difference? Artemis Studios, a Bracknell-based charity, is looking for enthusiastic Chaperone volunteers to support our exciting shows, events, and classes!

Chaperones are there to ensure the safety and welfare of children aged 16 or under at shows, in small groups (usually 2 adults to 12 children). They make sure the rehearsal and performance areas are safe, that children are only there for set hours, to support the pastoral needs of the children and to make sure everyone gets on and off stage as they should. The chaperone teams work with our Pastoral and Studios managers. On an average show in the Wilde Theatre, we will need 15- 20 chaperones per performance - quite an undertaking. All chaperones must have a licence from the LEA (we can help with this) which includes and Enhanced DBS and references, and new chaperones will undergo induction with our Head Chaperone.

Who can volunteer?

  • Anyone aged 18+ with a passion for the arts.

  • No specific experience needed – just a willingness to get involved!

  • Must be confident around children and young people.

  • Volunteers will undergo the NSPCC Safer Recruitment process after an interview to ensure a great fit.

  • Chaperones must have, or be willing to obtain a chaperone license from the local authority, and undergo induction training with our Head Chaperone.

What can you do?
Give as little as three hours of your time for a rehearsal or make a regular weekly commitment – it’s up to you!
