The weatherman is predicting heavy snow in the coming weeks. However - one persons heavy snow is anothers touch of frost!
Our snow policy during term time:
If it snows, we will post before 8am daily to announce the normal opening or temporary suspension of a classes(s). These posts can be seen:

On our Instagram profile.
IN ADDITION - anyone scheduled to comeo to class that day will be sent an email either confirming we are still running, or notifying of closure.
WHEN/WHY WOULD WE SHUT?
We use the local schools as a guide. If the council feels the roads are clear and safe, and local schools remain open - so will we. We can't confirm the night before unless there is very very heavy snow with predictable difficulties the following day. A light dusting during the afternoon does not always mean the snow will settle/stay or get worse.
If there is an issue with the venues - for example insufficient heating, burst pipes, non gritted parking or access roads. In these case we will close a class even if local schools are open that day.
If there is enough fresh snow (and a class is at night) to be difficult for new drivers - we will give personal judgement for our teen led classes, as they have a high number of self-driving teens with perhaps little to no snow experience. Driving in the snow in the dark would not be a good plan.
If we need to stop a class for snow - we will do a 'catch up'. This may be longer sessions for a few weeks running, or an added session at a later date.
WILL I GET A REFUND?
Only if we are unable to offer a catch up class. If we are open, and at least 50% of students choose to attend - no catch up will be usually offered. It is normal practice for part time schools like our to offer a catch up - usually because we are preparing for a show or exam and the learners need the extra time. If we are very close to an exam, we will usually find a way to offer an additional class anyway if fewer than 60% made it to the original class.
WHAT IF ARTEMIS IS OPEN BUT WE WANT TO MISS A CLASS?
It is up to parents and older students to make the safest choice for themselves/their families. We base our choice on the council's reports, which usually suit the majority of local people. Of course, a few of our familes may live in more rural areas, or not feel safe driving in the snow - and this is to be taken into consideration. You must do what is safest for you!
