Niki @ The Barbican

Hamlet at The Barbican

Artemis director Niki Robinson is thrilled (understatement!) to have been offered a much coveted place on a Directors Lab weekend, working with 'Hamlet' director Lyndsey Turner, at the Barbican Theatre in October. The Lab is for theatre professionals and each applicant had to provide a written statement on how participation would help them improve their practice.

A unique opportunity to work with award winning theatre director Lyndsey Turner.

Over the course of this Weekend Lab, theatre makers will gain an insight into the making of Hamlet, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role). Through a combination of discussion and practical exercises, the lab will explore the work of the rehearsal room and the choices made in production.

Turner’s credits include Fathers and Sons (Donmar); Chimerica (Almeida and West End); Philadelphia, Here I Come! (Donmar); Posh (Royal Court and West End); There Is A War and Edgar and Annabel (National Theatre); and Our Private Life, Contractions, A Miracle (Royal Court).

Two Artemis students will also be meeting Lynsey next weekend and taking an afternoon workshop with her as part of National Theatre Connections. :-)
