NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2012, 2013 & 2014!!
We will be auditioning for 8 new company members from September to Dec, to replace members who will be moving up to the senior team. If you are 10-14 and can dance get in touch - it could be you winning in 2017/18!
To join the JV's, you need talent stamina, good fitness, and be able to train up to two hours every week (before competitions or shows) during term time. We perform and compete at least 3 times a year, and you need to be able to attend all comps and performances to be on the main team. Dancers who can't commit to all events will train with the team, but be held as a reserve.
The team first went to Florida in 2014 where they danced at Disney World as part of the Halloween celebrations!
You will need to audition with us first, be aged 10 or over and a parent must give permission for you to take part. You must also be free to practice each week on Thursday nights, and some extra sundays (before a show or competition) and able to commit to the squad for at least one school year to allow for competition.
Rehearsals cannot be missed unless there is serious illness or emergency - all squad members sign a contract agreeing to their full commitment. We have an Senior squad (Phoenix) and Junior squad (Phoenix JV) and a third crew - Fusion who are a blend of invited members from both teams who compete at smaller regional events such as UDO (where we became World qualifiers on our first comp).
Some competitions will mean staying away from home for a night as they are a long way away. Expenses are sometime paid by fundraising for these trips, but you must be either able to stay away from home (with our licensed chaperones) or have a parent come with you. Competition is a compulsory part of being on the team. If you choose not to fundriase, you will need to find funds for competition fees, travel and costumes (and accomodation for away trips).
This up-and-coming squad work hard, have great team spirit and are a friendly welcoming group - try out now if you think you have what it takes!
We are registered with OFSTED and will accept Childcare Vouchers on classes!
The team rehearse on Thursday evenings, 6.30-8.00pm:
Whitegrove Youth and Community Centre (next to Tesco) in north Bracknell.
