Ann is our show choreographer, and teaches our Junior and Medusa theatre companies.
Ann Ogden, began her training at a an early age at Scottish Ballet's Junior Associates followed by, full time vocational training at The Dance School of Scotland, and then went on to graduate from London Studio Centre, with the final year concentrating on Contemporary dance.
Ann's career since then, as a professional dancer has been diverse, covering many spectrums of the dance industry, including theatre, feature films, TV and music videos across a wide range of styles. Feature films include 'The Duchess' with Keira Knightly, 'Gullivers Travels' with Jack Black and 'Harry Potter, Goblet of Fire'. Music videos include artists such as Calvin Harris and Franz Ferdinand. TV credits include 'The Trip' with Steve Coogan and 'Campus' a comedy series for Channel 4.
As a Choreographer, Ann is versatile and thrives on being able to draw from a wide range of influences and fuse them into her choreographer across many styles and genres. As a result bringing something fresh and visually exciting to each production. Her most recent work being: 'Alice in Wonderland' at Guildford G Live, the pantomimes 'Jack and the Beanstalk', 'Cinderella' and 'Dick Whittington' at South Hill Park Arts Centre, new musical 'Baggage' at Pentameters theatre, 'West Side Story' at Budleigh Salterton Playhouse, and 'Music is the Hero' at New Players Theatre. She has also choreographed contemporary pieces for 'Rain emperor' Beggars velvet LTD, and 'Dream On' Cloud Dance Festival. Ann was the assistant choreographer for 'Campus' a new comedy TV series, directed and produced by Victoria Pile, aired on Channel 4 and BBC sitcom 'Me and Mrs Jones' directed by Nick Hurran.
She is extremely personable and adaptable to the differing requirements for stage and screen, and experienced in choreographing dancers at all levels and ages, including non dancers, actors, children and professional dancers. She caters her style to each productions specific needs and believes in bringing out the best in each team of dancers.
Ann is also the choreographer for the pantomimes at South Hill Park, where we regularly have students appearing!
Ann has taught for us for a number of years, and will be our Choreographer for musical theatre until September 2015, when she leaves us for Pantomime. Ann will remain as a cover teacher and specialist work and projects.
