We want to wish all our friends and students, old and new, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2013! We will be closing the office tomorrow (Friday 20th) at 5pm. We re-open the office and studios on Tuesday 7th January 2014. xx
We can confirm the LAMDA exams for 2014 will be SUNDAY 2nd Feb 2014. We will not have a timetable until 10 days before so please hold the whole day from 9.30am. We will have two examiners, so two groups will be seen at a time, but there are a lot of you, so it could finish at 3-4pm for older students. A timetable will of course be emailed out as soon as one is available.
Artemis Elite, our stunt cheer team, have just taken delivery of their brand new uniforms! Designed by coach Gemah Allen, the first 10 team members were sponsored by Selammore, with a generous donation of £80 per uniform, the team proudly donned their new colours last week.
We have a lot of very lucky young people at Artemis, and we want to share our good fortune with others. From Tuesday, we are asking you to donate any good-condition toys or children's costumes. These will be split between an animal charity (who will use them in a window display before selling them at Christmas) and also a local toy charity who will wrap them as presents for children living in difficult circumstances who otherwise might not get a present at Christmas.
Representative members of Triple Threat from Bracknell and Windsor branches, our school band 'Take the Time' (sadly without Tyler as he is in Panto) and solos from Artemis graduate and professional singer Kiaya Brace can be seen this weekend as we get ready for the Christmas Lights Switch on this weekend!
Come and see the Artemis team perfrom between 4pm and 4.30 this Sunday. There are several surprises for the audience - should be lots of fun. Stay a little longer and see the lights go on at 5pm, and fireworks afterwards.
Three of our dance companies were in the news again this week. The JV's, ASA and Elite are all performing at Disney World in Florida next Halloween, and a local paper, The Bracknell Times picked on the event. Also performing are soloists and some of our graduate students who are now professional dancers. The picture is of the JV's, a 19 strong team of Junior dancers who have been National Champions for the last two years.
We are still looking for additional seniors (aged 15-24) to join the senior team for Disney in 2014.
Artemis director Niki Robinson, along with a team of performing arts professionals, teachers and technicans are applying to start a full time, freeperforming arts sixth form in Bracknell - to open in 2015.
