Allstars make their mark at StreetCheer 2009
Bracknell based ‘Artemis All-stars’ Cheer leaders took part in their their first ever Street Cheer competition last week, in Stoke on Trent. Street Cheer is new to the UK and combines Street Dance with traditional Cheerleading. The competition was fierce and with 15 squads competing in their section (seniors) and over 1200 cheerleaders taking part across all categories.
Rob in 'Jedward' spoof advert on the net
Medusa alumni Robert Jackson had some fun last week when he was picked for a spoof advert! The Young actor was chosen with another teen to be a lookalike for the now infamous "Jedward" brothers. The advert is a spoof which shows the boys supposedly being filmed on a security camera during rehearsals. they are then removed by a rubbish removal firm.

Four of our students helped out at the BBC over the summer. Josie Stanton, Stephen Stanton, Grace Key and Rhiann Connor were all sent by our agency to help CBBC pick a new presenting team!
Grant means Cheerleaders get their guys!
Thanks to a fabulous grant from the local Youth Opportunity Scheme, we are able to encourage 6 young men to join our brilliant competitive Street Cheer squad for 2010.Street Cheer is a Cheer/Hip Hop/Street fusion. Medusa begin movie with guest workshop
Medusa company members have begun the work on their up-coming summer movie. Just before half term, the teen company (all aged 14-20) worked for an afternoon with the BBC writer who is to pen their film.
Cheerleaders to travel to Telford in April
Once again the Artemis Allstars and their junior squad the JV Stars will travel to Telford for the BCA classic. We will also be submitting a limited number of solo's into this event for the first time. The teams will head up to the two day event on the Saturday to watch the stunt cheer competition. On the Sunday they will compete in team and solo events themselves.
Christmas Lights showcase
Once again, our performance dance groups Dance Company, Artemis Allstars (with JV Stars) and two soloists including Shebnum from Adult Belly Dance will perform for the crowds in Charles Square and the town in the run up to the Christmas Lights being switched on, as part of the festivities. Sunday 29th November, 12pm-4pm
Artemis - The Movies - Summer 2010
L.A. Ready (our film and television acting course) comes to Saturday school! Next summer (2010) - we will be making two films instead of one theatre show (there will still be plenty of live performances don't worry!) Starring Triple Threat and Medusa students, this fabulous project is being written by Holby City and BBC writer Daren Thomas (for Medusa) and one other guest writer (for Triple Threat) especially for our students - more details to follow soon!
Christmas Showcase & Awards banquet & family disco!
Join us for our annual student showcase on 5th December 2009, featuring all our Saturday (Dance Majors, Triple Threat, Medusa Theatre Company), Cheerleaders, Dance Company, and for the first time our weekday dance students (Ballet, Tap & solos). Petite Street (ages 4-9) and more! This Christmas will be a family event with a difference!
Dick Whittington! Presented by the Medusa Theatre Company
For four shows, the studios will be transformed into a set as the players from the Medusa Theatre Company present Bart Lee's Dick Whittington! With original music from the cast, and pop favourites, family friendly jokes, and tap dancing pie-ratz!! Based on the classic children's fairy tale, this show has been revised and adapted for Medusa.
