Xtreme are a hard working Junior Level One squad who compete in regional and national championships. They are aged 6-13
They work hard weekly with coaches Gemah and junior coaches from Elite our senior team - who are strict and run a tight ship - but the team love their tough love - and winning as a result!
Cheer is a tough sport and dance discipline - we don't use pom poms, these dancers are athletes who train in gymnastics, stunts at height and are strong all round performers. To see how amazing you could feel in just three terms time - look at this video!
This is a level 1 team - for cheerleaders with little or no previous experience. Entry onto the team is by audition - you dont need to prepare anything, just join in a class!
This Level One team is open to dancers from age 6 - 13. Class includes stunts, partnerwork, tumbling and dance. Althletes compete at regional and national competitions three times a year.
Fees (excluding uniform or competitions) are £180 per term or £45 a month payable over 12 months (one full season). Team members sign committment contracts. Bursary places are sometimes available for exceptional cheerleaders who would otherwise not be able to take part (proof of need required).
Cheerleaders are athletes who work super hard to put together fabulous routines, with stunts, gym and dance, and then take them to competitions throughout the UK.
Cheerleading is for all shapes and sizes! It gives confidence, fitness and team work skills.
All team members audition for their place by joining in a free trial class (no prep needed). There are between 12 and 20 team members in any year, and we perform at festivals, competitions and public events.
The team practice weekly at Birch Hill Community Centre - a bright, safe and clean space where we can get everyone off to a great start in the Cheerleading goals!
Friday 4.30-6.30pm term time (12 weeks per term).
Additionaly, from September 2017, the team train on the first Sunday of each month at Reddam Gym in Wokingham.
A full and detailed schedule is provided to parents in late July 2017, and will be available on the team online parents chatroom, and with a password protected account on this website.
Birch Hill Community Centre
Free parking on site. The hall is next to the Aldi supermarket.
Anyone offered a place on the team must be available for all competitions ( for the 2017/18 season - this will be December at Future Cheer WinterWonderland in Chelmsford, June at BCA In Guildford or FC in Brighton and July at the Future Cheer Bournemouth Internationals. If even one member is unavailable - the whole team lose out.
This class has a very strict uniform requirement. Students will be expected to purchase the required sports clothing and footwear before their first class as a member. Parents will be given a list of links to suppliers (where they can purchase directly). This uniform is non-negotiable - it is worn for health and safety reasons and children who come to class without the correct clothes and shoes will not be allowed to participate as they may hurt themselves or others. Parents should budget approximately £150 for the whole uniform (including a bespoke competition uniform required from Spring term to compete).
Artemis provide team bows (handmade) and we personally put crystals on every uniform - this saves parents around £100.
